Week Off Part 1: Cornwall

My first week in between jobs has been packed full of events that I have to split it up my blog post into three parts. I’ve been told not to put facebook announcement or blog about going away on holiday by fellow bloggers in case our flat get burgled. So I’ve been very good and taken their advice which is why I’ve been absence from the blog scene, but I’m back now, with lots to tell.  Well I timed my first week to coincide with my daughter’s summer holidays and we decided to head off to Cornwall for four days.  As Jax had to drive (I’m really scared of driving on the motorway) I bought my daughter’s Hawaii to knit during the car journey and it is almost done now, just the sleeves, border and sewing up to do.  

We then spent our second day in Padstow and Rock.  I’m a big fan of Rick Stein so a visit to Padstow was a must and we were not disappointed.  There was the Stein deli, Stein fish and ship shop (where we had dinner), Stein Pattiserie (where the crab pasties were sold out when we got there), Stein shop but we didn’t go to the restaurant (I’ve heard that you need to make reservation several months in advance). 

After eating some ice cream from Roskilly and pasties from the Chough Bakery we took the ferry to Rock where we just relaxed and built sand castles.

The next day was spent at the Eden Project, where we built a den, practice taking photos of flowers and plants  and spent some time exploring the biomes. 

Our last day was spent at Tintagel Castle were we climbed up to the ruin castle of the real/myth King Arthur and walked down to the caves by the sea to look for dragons. 

It’s been such a long time since I’ve had such a relaxing holiday with my family and we all had a great time.
